Transfer Information

All individuals wishing to transfer their probation supervision will need to be prepared to provide address and verification of residence. Along with residence information, employment information and family contact information is also required.

Interstate transfer policy dictates that one or more of the following must be met before a transfer will be started:
  • The offender must be a resident of the receiving state at the time of sentencing
  • The offender has immediate family within the state they are transferring
  • The address must be verifiable
  • Employment must be verified

Interstate (Transfer out of MN) transfers may take up to 90 days from the completion of the paperwork. Offenders are not eligible for travel permits during the period of the investigation. Offenders may not leave the state (MN) until their transfer is approved or they may face felony charges for being in a state without permission.
